Wherever you see the Family Friendly Dorset logo you can be sure that this organisation actively welcomes families.
But what does it actually mean?
Our promise to you is that we will do our best to make your visit enjoyable and you and your family feel comfortable and welcome.
This means:
Everyone in the organisation is involved in the commitment to families.
We know that family groups can come in many different shapes and sizes – so we try to cater for all of them. Your family may include one or more children, relatives, friends, carers or more than two generations at a time. So to us, a family may be any group consisting of at least one adult of any age and at least one child up to the age of 18. If you feel that doesn’t include you – let us know!
We actively seek to offer a high standard of events and activities that all the family can enjoy – and encourage you to try new things as well as good quality favourites.
We try to think about your needs from the moment you look for information about us right through to the end of your visit. And that means providing the information you need and being honest about our facilities at all times.
We aim to make your visit affordable with family discounts available at some events – check listings for details.
We know how important safety is to you and we aim to achieve high standards in our buildings and through our staff training.
Wherever possible, we provide facilities to help you have a comfortable visit – these may include dedicated baby changing facilities, a buggy park, pushchair ramps, good-value healthy food options in our cafés with child-sized portions, high chairs, crayons and paper and special activities. Check out each venue for their special Family Friendly Features.
Not all our events and activities are designated Family Friendly so we label them carefully and the Family Friendly Dorset logo will highlight those we think are particularly suitable for families. But it’s worth checking out all our other activities as they may be just right for your family.
We try to be accessible, helpful, interactive – and height aware!
We aim to keep improving our service to you and so we’ll always listen to your comments and requests. We may not be able to respond to every request immediately – but we will take your needs into account when planning for the future.
