Dorset Library Services

Open for all: free to join – everyone is welcome at Dorset Libraries. You’re never too young or too old to enjoy reading. Once you have joined the library you can borrow books and other items such as CDs and DVDs. Dorset Libraries offer free internet access and they’re a great place to study or find information. There are 34 libraries in Dorset and our mobile libraries stop at over 300 places, so wherever you live, there’s a library service point nearby.

What Have We Got To Offer Families?

All Dorset Libraries have a welcoming children’s area. We are working with young adults to develop our services and across the county, we offer a range of activities such as Rhyme Times, storytimes, author talks and children’s Chatterbooks reading groups. We are active in the community, for example working in partnership with Surestart and the Primary Care Trust we provide Bookstart packs for children under 3 years old.
All of our libraries comply with DDA regulations so have buggy friendly access.
